CHPHC Winning Recipes from our Birthday Party Sangia Contest

The Winner! and new Champeen!

Sharon Leverett - CHPHC & Tampa Bay PHC

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 liter bottle of very good Cabernet Sauvignon (Black Swan is what I used.)
  • 1 cup of very good Brandy (E&J is what we used)
  • 1 cup of Triple Sec or Orange Liquor
  • 1 cup sugar

Mixing Instructions:
Mix wine, brandy, triple sec and sugar. Add 1 orange sliced and slightly squeezed, 1 lemon sliced and squeezed, 1 lime sliced and squeezed and 1 apple sliced.

Cure in a sealed bottle or jug for 24 hours, shaking occasionally.

Next day add 1 large bottle of Pellegrino Italian Sparkling water (This is the secret ingredient!)

If you would like to add fresh strawberries you can at this time.

When I slice and squeeze, I make a half cut in the fruit and gently twist the fruit squeezing some of the juice into the wine mixture.

Connie Caines - Parrot Heads of Central Florida

Ingredients:

  • 1 - 1.5 liter bottle of Sangria (Yago, Livingston)
  • 1.5 cup of Triple Sec
  • .5 cup of Brandy
  • .5 cup Pomegranate Schnapps
  • .5 cup Gold Tequila
Mixing Instructions:
Stir ingredients. Add citrus fruit and garnish as desired.
Pour and enjoy.

Sandy Kayser - Southwest Florida Parrot Head Club

Ingredients:

  • Bottle of Livingston Sangria Wine
  • 1 package of Columbia Sangria Wine Spices
  • Apricot Brandy
  • Cherry Brandy
  • Brandy
  • Small amount of sugar
  • Sprite
  • Apples, Peaches, Dark Cherries, Oranges, Lemon, Limes
Mixing Instructions:
Cut up fruit and soak in brandy for 1 hour.
Mix other ingredients except Sprite.
After fruit has finished soaking, pour fruit and brandy into wine.
Leave a few orange slices for garnish.
Just before serving, add Sprite.
Serve well chilled or over ice.

Rotten Ralph's Bloody Mary Mix

For a large group!

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz. celery salt
  • 1.5 oz. pepper
  • 1.5 oz. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1.5 A-1 sauce

  • .75 oz. Tabasco sauce
  • 3 1-qt. cans tomato sauce
Mixing Instructions:
Stir ingredients.

Add 1 to 1.5 oz. of vodka, mix and add celery stalk and garnish as desired.
Pour and enjoy.

Rob's Vodka Martini

Ingredients:

  • Ice

  • 2 jiggers (3 oz.) Skyy Vodka

  • 2 large olives

Instructions:
Pour vodka over ice in a mixing glass, cover & shake heartily.
Pour vodka into Martini glass, add olives and enjoy.

The Jack Mosley Special AKA Cuervo Martini AKA Tequila Shooter

Ingredients:

  • Ice

  • 2 jiggers (3 oz.) José Cuervo Gold (or other fine tequila)


Instructions:
Pour tequila over ice in a mixing glass, cover & shake, rattle & roll, baby.
Pour tequila into a chilled glass and serve with a beer back. No lime. Enjoy!
