Hey!

Stop the presses! Here's the latest . . .!

Birthday Party Registration Opens!

The theme for our third Birthday Party is "Behind Door #3."

"Oh, Monty, Monty! My whole life is waiting behind door #3 . . ."

If you know the lyrics to the song, you know it's about the daytime TV show "Let's Make a Deal." If you've ever watched the show, people dress up in costumes to try to get selected for a chance to win prizes hidden behind three doors. Of course, you never know what's behind the doors: a prize worth a fortune or something worth $3.69. But the popular choice seemed to be door #3.

So! What do we have "Behind Door #3?"

Registration for the party is now open. To register, click here.

Relay For Life

Karen Powers is again the coordinator for the CHPHC's Relay For Life (RFL) team.

Karen wants to focus on the first day when all the ceremonies are held. She will need help setting up our display and tearing down later that evening.

Raffles in February, March and April, plus hot dog sales at the Howard Livingston show on March 4, 2010, and one other weekend will help raise funds for the CHPHC RFL team.

If you'd like to volunteer for any of the activities, or be on the RFL team, please contact Karen by email or phone: (941)473-9581.

In the subject line please type: "Tampa Ticket Request."

In the body of your email you must include:

  • the full name of each person receiving a ticket
  • a phone number
  • your email address
  • a list of volunteer activities you have participated with through the club in the past year, 2009

IF YOU DO NOT INCLUDE ALL THE ABOVE INFORMATION, YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO GET TICKETS!

We must get our requests in to the "Ticket God" before Tuesday, February 16th, so don't delay if you want tickets.

Once we tell you what the exact price is for the tickets, we need you to send a check for the full amount, made payable to the CHARLOTTE HARBOR PARROT HEAD CLUB.

Send the check to: CHPHC/Tickets, 880 Knights Lane, Englewood, FL 34223.

New Date for Tampa Announced!

It has just been announced that there will be Jimmy Buffett Concert in Tampa at the Ford Amphitheater April 24th. The cost of the tickets are $96.00 each.

Jimmy's management company offers 300 tickets per venue to be purchased by Parrot Head club members. These tickets need to be divided between all the local clubs to members in good standing. In this case all 28 Florida Clubs. We are not sure how many tickets will be available for our club, and as always if we cannot fill all the requests, they will be rewarded to those who have volunteered the most. Each volunteering member is able to request tickets - 2 per membership (this means a couple or a single membership. For the single memberships, you must assure us that the extra ticket is going to another Parrot Head Club Member in good standing.) This is a national rule, not ours, and THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS!

If you have been a member of the Charlotte Harbor Parrot Head Club for over a year and have performed some volunteer work, you are entitled to request 2 tickets per member for the concert. Our club is eligible to acquire tickets for the Tampa show on Saturday, April 24, 2010. Tickets are $96.00 per seat. WE NEED TO KNOW WHO WANTS TICKETS TO THE TAMPA CONCERT, REGARDLESS OF PRICE, BY TUESDAY, 12:00 p.m., NOON, FEBRUARY 16, 2010.

If you want tickets, please email Greg Vogel no later than 12:00 p.m. (noon) on February 16, 2010.

Wanna be on the Board?

The club is looking for other volunteers to fill positions on the Board. We currently have one voting position, Social Director, open. This will be a one-year appointment to the Board. Prez Tracy is looking for someone who likes to conceive & set up social activities. Other Board positions that need to be filled are: Charities Committee Chair.

Or serve on a committee?

We're also looking for people to help out on all the committees. There's something for everyone, just let us know what you're interested in doing.

If interested in any of these positions, contact Tracy.
